Wine Festivities Start This Week!

Is there too much blood in your alcohol system? Read this, we can help!

A month of festivities begin this weekend, and continue through August 20th in the wine valley.

Valle de Guadalupe is a lush, green landscape stretching for miles along the Baja peninsula, providing a seemingly endless, aesthetically-pleasing vista from any inland hilltop.

Visitors from around the world migrate like spawning salmon to this exquisite oasis in the desert to enjoy wine-tasting excursions from one sprawling vineyard to another, to marvel at the uniqueness of each of the award-winning wineries and to experience the vast expanse of magnificent scenery.

The celebration begins July 27th, and thus begins the Fiesta de la Vendimia (“Wine Harvest Festival”). It is the annual celebration that started 27 years ago, when the Valle de Guadalupe wineries first raised a toast to the fruits of their labor!

Once the festivities begin, there is a special event taking place every day through August 20th. The main events are hosted by individual wineries, and feature wine tastings, concerts, formal dinners and a variety of entertainment.

Here’s a listing of special events for your convenience. Please be advised that it is wise to purchase tickets for each event in advance, since many of them sell out quickly. Contact the venues directly for prices and information.

There are many other events available, for a full calendar of wine festivities this year, visit www.provinoac.org or call (646) 178 3038.

This list should give you a good indication of how important this festival is to the region. It’s a grand fiesta, intended to celebrate the lush environment and the inimitable hospitality of the Valle de Guadalupe.

You can’t possibly attend all of these events…unless, of course, you are already on top of the liver transplant receivers list. No matter how many you DO attend, however, have fun and be responsible, if you’re drinking it’s better to have a designated driver or take an Uber which will take you and your friends to and from the valley safely for a reasonable rate. Enjoy!
